Opening Blog

Hi to whomever is reading this. My name is Jesse Tigner, I am a 7th year UAF student (taking one class at a time takes awhile). I have a goal of getting my degree in criminal Justice.

I have lived in alaska for almost all of my life and have not quite figured out why i'm still here. I have been married for a year and a half and have a 6 month old daughter named Sariah.
My wife and her family. From left to right Chris Carter, Chelsey Carter, Wanda Sisson, and my wife Rachael Tigher
My daughter, Sariah.

I have worked Presbyterian Hospitality House for the last 5 years. I am the Independent Living Coordinator, the program is designed to help young men and women that have SED issues become independent in the community. Its a great job and I love making a difference for these youth. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and daughter, go Jetskiing, play video games, and traveling.

  1. Jesse - this looks great! I love all the photos - your daughter is gorgeous, congrats! Is she sleeping through the night yet? I have a 2 year old son named Gus, so I can empathize with working full time, co-parenting, and trying to finish your degree. But it sounds like you've got a ton of life experience that will serve you well in this class. I look forward to getting to know you better!
